What is Tempeh?

Tempeh is a soy-based food. Its production is simple. Soybeans must go through a fermentation process. Its seeds must be combined with fungi called Rhizopus and left to ferment for several hours until it forms a compact block.
Thanks to its diverse high nutritional content (100g tempeh = 20g of protein, 6g of fiber and rich in vitamin B12), tempeh is a complete food.
We believe that tempeh is a superfood with incredible potential and versatility.

Our story

In the fall of 2018, Sonel and Jasmine’s 8-year-old son tells them he wants to be a vegetarian. Wanting to provide him with a balanced diet, the search for an alternative begins. Disappointed by the existing options, they discovered tempeh. “Right away, we saw the benefits and potential of this product,” explains the man who now presides over Aliments Merjex, the company behind Tempehine.
Passionate about cooking, Jasmine quickly distinguished herself by creating, in the family kitchen, the flavors that now delight consumers. The couple therefore started producing tempeh. Today, they are one of the main producers in Quebec.

Services To Companies

Tempeh is becoming increasingly popular. More and more consumers are looking for it and want to include it in their healthy diet. Whether Canada’s food guide, the fight against climate change, or veganism, all these factors are driving the demand for tempeh to heights that would have been unimaginable a few years ago. The craze around Tempeh is explained by its extraordinary nutritional properties: 20g of protein and 6g of fiber per 100g of tempeh. Who says better?
Moreover, Tempehine offers you a tempeh product that will make your life easier. Think of the labor and time constraints and imagine your tempeh order delivered to your kitchen, already marinated, precooked and portioned. What else could you ask for?
